Carolyn and Blake were married on Blake’s family property in Beaufort, South Carolina. I was thrilled to jump in and coordinate their wedding weekend.
Hurricane Matthew had made a pit stop in Beaufort just a week before, damaging so much of the land in the area. The beach property where they had planned to be married on, was completely destroyed by so many fallen trees and debris. Carolyn had her heart set on this location, and Blake’s family and friends jumped on board to spend days clearing the land to have it ready for the ceremony. I can’t even explain how much work it must of been to clear – it was a true labor of love from the Groom to his Bride.
The reception was at the family home, which was built in 1789 – it was the most gorgeous home I’ve ever seen in person – and had a full ballroom upstairs! It couldn’t have been more perfect for hosting a fall outdoor reception, in the beautiful gardens.
